Want to buy my quilt? It's for sale at the AAQI website.   The Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative® (www.AlzQuilts.org) is a national, grassroots charity whose mission is to raise awareness and fund research. The AAQI auctions and sells donated quilts, and sponsors a nationally touring exhibit of quilts about Alzheimer's. The AAQI has raised more than $730,000 since January 2006.

Quilt Title:  Don't Worry, Be Happy

Width: 8.25" Length: 9"
Designer: Original design

Materials/Techniques: This quilt is made from hexagon blocks, constructed from 1 1/2", 60 degree triangles with commercial cotton, cotton/polyester variegated thread, ball fringe and Swarovski crystals.
Artist Statement: While my Mom lived with Alzheimer's, I was fortunate that she always recognized me. She seemed worry free and happy. "Don't Worry, Be Happy" became my description of her condition.
Dedication: Dedicated to Sara Goodwin, who gracefully fought Alzheimer's.

  1. Thank you so much for sharing information about the Alzheimer’s Art Quilt Initiative! I lost my Dad to Alzheimer’s in December of 2010 and have been committed to raising money for research through AAQI since he was diagnosed in 2006. I am a quilter too and I applaud the fact that the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative is a grass roots organization that is totally staffed by volunteers so that every available dollar can be used to fund research. I love your bright and cheery little quilt and am thrilled that you have taken up our cause!

  2. A big thank you shout out to the one who recently purchased my little quilt!!!!! May it bring you years of enjoyment. This quilt earned $50 for AAQI. Every donation is important in bringing us just a little closer to a cure for Alzheimer's.
