Materials/Techniques: This quilt is made from hexagon blocks, constructed from 1 1/2", 60 degree triangles with commercial cotton, cotton/polyester variegated thread, ball fringe and Swarovski crystals.
Artist Statement: While my Mom lived with Alzheimer's, I was fortunate that she always recognized me. She seemed worry free and happy. "Don't Worry, Be Happy" became my description of her condition.
Dedication: Dedicated to Sara Goodwin, who gracefully fought Alzheimer's.

Thank you so much for sharing information about the Alzheimer’s Art Quilt Initiative! I lost my Dad to Alzheimer’s in December of 2010 and have been committed to raising money for research through AAQI since he was diagnosed in 2006. I am a quilter too and I applaud the fact that the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative is a grass roots organization that is totally staffed by volunteers so that every available dollar can be used to fund research. I love your bright and cheery little quilt and am thrilled that you have taken up our cause!
